SENATE MOVES TO DEPOSE WITNESSES
Along party-line votes the Senate handily rejected this last week three
Democratic motions to dismiss the trial and to restrict the inclusion of
witnesses. The motion to allow the deposing of witnesses was easily
approved. Monica Lewinsky has been deposed. Vernon Jordan and Sidney
Blumenthal are being deposed this week and their statements will be made
available to the Senators on videotape. CIC urges that all supporters
contact their Senators and demand that these witnesses testify live via
C-SPAN on the Senate floor, or at the very least, have their videotaped
depositions to be made public. This can be done in the same fashion that
Clinton’s testimony became public. (For contact information of selected
Senators, please click here

*NAKED COWBOY AND OTHER STORIES
During Monica L.’s deposition, a man wearing leotards sang to the
assembled
reporters funny songs about Clinton’s lies, and he called himself the
Naked
Cowboy.
Also, 100 pairs of "President Clinton's pants" were found dangling from
tree
branches at locations on Capitol Hill. A group called the "Clinton
Without Trousers
Brigade" claimed credit.
The group’s aims are to use pants as useful reminders of President
Clinton's reckless, predatory and sometimes violent behavior towards
innocent women --- many of whom, like the numerous "Jane Does" --- want
the truth to come out.
“We are urging Americans to hang a pair of pants on a tree on February
15,
President’s Day, to show we have a President without pants. And we ask
Americans
to send a pair of old pants to their Senator with a note: “Vote to
Remove A President
Without Pants” said the group.
*ONE DEMOCRAT STANDS ON PRINCIPLE
On the motions for dismissal and the calling of witnesses, only one
Democrat --- Sen. Russell Feingold (D-Wisc.) --- stood on principle, the
rule of law and the constitution by voting with the majority. This may
be the beginning signal of a Democratic shift. CIC encourages all
supporters to send a message of thanks to the Senator and ask him to
support conviction.

*NEW EVIDENCE COULD BE EXPOSED
An exclusive story on the WorldNetDaily news site on January 25th,
gives a glimpse of “new”revelations. Reportedly whenever Clinton
beckoned
the services of Ms. Lewinsky while she was working at the Pentagon,
Marine Corps. Officers chauffered her to the White House --- all on
taxpayers expense, a clear abuse of presidential power.
Vernon Jordan and Sidney Blumenthal both have conflicting stories from
their testimonies before the Starr grand jury that need to be
clarified. Will they continue to cover-up for Clinton for Clinton,
risking perjury and
contempt charges, or will they finally just tell the truth? It remains
to be seen.
*OTHER WITNESSES NEED TO BE CALLED
The House impeachment managers had originally planned to call 15
witnesses, but were pressured by the Republican Senators to limit their
list to only three. It is still possible for the Senate --- in future
motions ---
to call forth more witnesses. CIC encourages all supporters to contact
your
Senator and demand that more witnesses be called (Capitol switchboard #
: 202-224-3121).
The testimonies of the numerous “Jane Does” of the Starr Report can
provide shocking accounts of intimidation and harassment which could
further buttress the obstruction of justice charge. In particular,
there is the suffering of Juanita Broaddrick who has said she was raped
by Clinton
years ago in Arkansas and desperately wants the truth to be told. Other
witnesses like Kathleen Willey and Linda Tripp also have extraordinary
information to offer, especially the direct threats made on their lives.
** Drudge Report Says “House Investigators Afraid of Physical
Retaliation”
Now, seasoned career congressional staffers consider the work they are
doing
as part of the impeachment trial as dangerous because friends of the
Clintons
in government, or outside government, will make them “pay” for their
work.
