ELIAN SEIZED IN WACO-STYLE ASSAULT!

Troops destroy home; Threaten to kill family, protesters

Bill Clinton and Janet Reno sent in federal troops at 5 am this morning to forcibly seize Elian Gonzalez from his Miami home. A 140-member SWAT team was deployed for the operation. The violent scene: Armed federal agents dressed in black fatigues and stormtrooper-like helmets burst into the home in a pre-dawn raid, catching the family by surprise. [Ironically, the lawyers for the family were on the phone negotiating in good faith with Clinton officials when the assault began!] U.S. Marshals and other federal agents broke down doors and trashed the house.

>>>One agent pointed a machine gun at Elian, who was screaming and crying! This unbelievable act of force was photographed and has been shown on the Drudge Report website , MSNBC and other news outlets.

Agents also pointed guns at family members, and at the heads of demonstrators outside the home, and threatened to kill them. Tear gas and pepper spray was also used against the family and protesters. All of these incidents were captured on LIVE broadcasts this morning, but are now being edited and spun by the national newsmakers to minimize the backlash against Clinton and Reno.

>>>As of 9:50 am, Elian has been a hostage of the Clinton administration at Andrews Air Force base where his father and Cuban officials are at present. Anti-Castro protestors have flocked to National Airport and Andrews Air Force Base. Anti-Clinton crowds are reported in major American cities. Protests announced in others. Recent reports indicate Elian may be relocated to government-controlled plantations near Wye River, MD or Warrenton, VA.

PHOTOS SPEAK A THOUSAND WORDS

The dramatic photos of Elian being seized by force have swiftly changed the minds of those folks who previously sympathized with the father,” says CIC’s Steve Miroy. “This brutal display of force by the Clinton administration captured on film shows America the White House and Justice Department in total defiance of real justice and terrorizing innocent people.” There are two photos of the federal agent pointing a machine gun at Elian (the more forceful one is NOT being shown by the liberal media), as well as photos of Elian screaming and wailing in his underwear as he is being carried from the house. REP. SAYS ELIAN DRUGGED BY FEDS
Is "happy" photo of Elian & father a fraud??

In an interview on CNN's "Evans & Novak/ Hunt & Shields" this afternoon, Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL) stated that Elian has most likely been drugged by INS officials, noting that Elian had a bandaid on him after his seizure. Congressman Balart also alleged that Elian was being "brainwashed" so as to force him to state at his May 11 asylum hearing his supposed desire to return to Cuba. "If the Congressman's allegations are true, then the photo of a smiling Elian with his father is nothing but contrived propaganda," says CIC's Linda Whitman, a frequent visitor to the Cuban Interest Section to oppose Castro.

HELP SAVE ELIAN!

Reno and Clinton have acted. But CONGRESS can still take action to protect the boy. “If Elian is still in the U.S. this week and for his May 11 asylum hearing, Congress can reconvene and vote on the citizenship bills and open hearings to investigate Janet Reno’s and Bill Clinton’s deplorable actions,” says CIC’s Jack Clayton. We are urging supporters once again to contact their Representatives and Senators at http://www.impeachclinton.org/impeach/contact.shtml and demand they support H.R. 3531 and S. 1999.

Call the White House And Other Washington Leaders

Call the White House switchboard at (202) 456-1414 telling the operators this act was despicable. Call the Speaker of the House's office at (202) 225-0600 asking what they are going to do now since they didn't do anything before to stop this raid which seems more like something that would have happened in the old Soviet Union (for additonal numbers or to connect to your State’s U.S. Senator, call the Capitol switchboard: (202) 225-3121). Call Congressman Largent's office since he was a conservative who was in favor sending Elian back and ask if he is happy now (202) 225-9187. And call the Senate Majority Leader's office (202-224-3135) and ask the Hon. Lott for action. If you are contacting Congressman Hastert in his capacity as Speaker of the House, please send your e-mail to speaker@mail.house.gov. Hastert’s other Washington, DC Office is 202-225-2976, fax 202-225-0697 Mail goes to Hastert c/o 2263 Rayburn HOB, Washington DC 20515.

Note: if machines answer, leave messages. If no answer call back at a different time.

If Elian is moved to the federal plantations in Virginia or Maryland, (see above news item) CIC is recommending that supporters contact the GOVERNORS of those states and demand they ask state officials near or at these locations to protect Elian, his supporters and to not assist Clinton and Cuban officials from illegally deporting him.
